The Return of the Community Supported Baking Project

A little bit of backstory for all you wonderful folks:
In the fall of 2013, while trying to come up with a good way to grow the options and offerings of Elegant Elephant, a “CSB“ was born. After enjoying local produce in a CSA from one of our favorite farms, we thought- what if we do the same idea, but for baked goods?!
It was a fun project that lasted for about 6 months, at which time we had grown into a larger business with more wholesale customers- so that is where we put our focus.
In April of 2020, while trying to keep our families safe, and our staff employed, we launched a home delivery service called Grown and Rooted, in partnership with other local businesses. This service pulled together pantry staples, local produce & dairy, and our baked goods, delivered to residential homes. We offered this service for about 6 months, at which time people had become more comfortable going out and grocery shopping, ending the intense need we felt like we were fulfilling.
During this past year, the EEBC team has talked a lot about what we enjoy offering to our local community, and what we can do to improve upon our services. One thing that continued to arise was the desire to have more items available to our customers.
We will have just 10 boxes available for the first month, Launching in March! These boxes will be availible under the Grown and Rooted name, a call back to our roots. CSB boxes will be pick up only to begin. They will have a beautiful selection of sweet AND savory pastries, multiple breads, and select flour blends with recipe cards. The value of these boxes will vary from $120-$130 per box. The boxes are available for purchase through our website for just $100!
The recipes will be created just for our CSB customers, and will vary each month based on seasonal and availability for raw ingredients. We plan to WOW you all with the variety and options we will be curating in these boxes! The recipe cards included with our flour blends will have options for tailoring the recipes to meet all allergen needs.
In the coming months we will begin collaborating with other local and gluten free vendors to offer Add Ons to your box, ex: vanilla Jills waffle cones, Larry & Sons Bagel packs, and many many more. Do you have ideas of what youd like to see us offer as an add on? Let us know!
